Cedar Lane Supply is a local gold mine for contractors, plumbers, electricians, craftsmen and do-it-yourselfers.  The store contains a myriad of tools, hardware, building, electrical, plumbing and industrial supplies.  The owners also added lumber to its inventory 7 years ago. Although there is plenty of hardware to be found, perhaps the best part of the store is the staff.  The business evokes the friendly, caring feel of an old-time hardware store where everyone knows you by name but offers the inventory and expertise of a much larger home improvement store.  

Eddie Johnson and Daniel Kirkley are co-owners of Cedar Lane Supply.   The business has been a family affair since it opened in 1984. Eddie’s father, Rufus Johnson, opened the store after retiring from Dupont.  Rufus had been selling “this and that” from his home and decided to open a store in Pageland.  He rented the building from John Amos Arant and the business has been a fixture in downtown Pageland ever since. While Eddie was a youngster he helped his father at home with machines and tools. In 1987 Eddie started working with his father at the store and has worked diligently to ensure Cedar Lane would be a convenient and well-stocked place for the people of Pageland to shop.  Eddie’s sister Sandra Kirkley works full time running the cash register and assisting customers.   Sandra’s son, Daniel has been helping out since he was 12 years old.  Sandra said, “When Daniel young he was in here working for his grandfather.  He swept, stocked shelves, ran the weed-eater and did whatever we could find for him to do.”  That early training paid off.  Today Daniel and Eddie work side-by-side along with Sandra.   Both men have an excellent understanding of the building industry.  The supply company has a loyal following because Eddie and his staff believe in the Golden Rule, “We treat others like we would want to be treated.  If we can’t help you, we will find someone who can.”  

So, if you are in need of a doorknob, elbow joint, 7 lbs of nails, 2 x 4s or anything else to keep your home looking good, or if you are building from the ground up, come in to Cedar Lane Supply and see the friendly folks there.  They are ready to serve you with a smile.
