Finley Kohler, candidate for Mayor

My family moved to Pageland in 1946 and my father, a pharmacist was employed by H & H Drug Company, which he later bought and it became Kohler’s Drug Store.

Practically all of my working life has been in downtown Pageland.

After graduating from Pageland High School I worked at A.M. Moore Hardware Company for 26 years and then Tucker Home Center and Tucker Lumber Company until 1990 when I joined the Town of Pageland.

I worked first as a water meter reader and then as a certified waste water operator and industrial pre-treatment coordinator.

While in these jobs, I attended numerous schools and seminars on waste water treatment and management until I retired in 2005.  Since then I worked several years as a part time operator until recently when I resigned this position.

I joined the S.C. Army National Guard in 1959 serving until 1965 and attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant.

I have been a member of Pageland United Methodist Church for 62 years and I am currently serving as Chairman of the Church Council.

After working these several jobs while remaining in Pageland has enabled me to meet many of our citizens from different walks of life and gain a better understanding of their needs and hopes for our town.

I believe the varied experience qualifies me to serve as the Mayor of the Town of Pageland.
