Does it seem like everyone is getting into the Holiday season but you? Do you sometimes feel like you are the only one doing any work? Here are some helpful tips for surviving the Holiday season.
What is Important?
Focus on Important Task. What really has to be done? Do you have a deadline to meet? Are there issues with customer satisfaction that require your attention? Do you have a project that must be completed this year, or by waiting until 2010 could you be more creative?
Make last minute adjustments.
Think about your finances. Think about your tax deductions. You have planned all year, but this is the last chance to “buff up” your financials.
Plan and Budget.
Have you completed your budget for your small business or home? If not, you need to get busy. If you have already done your budget, this is a good time to review your plan. Take a few minutes alone with no distractions to make sure you are headed in the right direction.
Reflect on good things.
Take time to congratulate yourself on your accomplishments you’ve made this year. Were they business or personal successes?
Reward Key Employees/Family Members
This is a good time to recognize key employees for all they have done during the past year. Remember the behaviors and accomplishment for which you reward these employees are the attributes you encourage for all your employees for next year.
For family members – spotlight an accomplishment of each individual over the past year and praise them for it. Let them know that you haven’t been so busy as to forget what they have done.
Thank all employees
Finally, thank everyone who works for you. They all contributed to your business. It may be a hand-written note, a small gift, or a company party or meal. Anything you do will be much appreciated.
