Today was the big day for McDonald’s of Pageland!
The Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:30 Thursday morning, September 3rd. Central High School Marching Eagles set the tone for the festive celebration. They provided several upbeat selections to get the day started.
Mayor Pro-Tempore, Martha Hamilton, welcomed the team of McDonald’s owners, management, staff and families and offered words of encouragement for their success. Mrs. Hamilton talked about the blessings they have brought to the community and that we wished them a blessing in return.
Chamber President, Greg Lawrence welcomed everyone in attendance and passed along the best wishes from the Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Pageland. Mr. Lawrence also noted the number of employees for McDonald’s and that of those 80 plus, most are from the Pageland community.
Jerome Davis and his wife Hattie are the owners of the new McDonald’s. Mr. Davis said that a Pageland restaurant has been many years in the making. This had been a dream for a long time and now a reality. They currently own 4 other McDonald locations in North and South Carolina. They run a tight ship at each location and promise to uphold the great values of the McDonald’s company and also their own. Making a good impression, getting the order right, every customer, every time – these are the things he looks to his employees to do consistently.
Several Council members from the Town of Pageland, the Chamber of Commerce, and the McDonald’s Management Staff then cut the ribbon for the official opening of the store. They began serving at 11 am.
We look forward to having a wonderful relationship with the McDonald’s team.
