Our Annual Awards Banquet was held on Thursday, January 27th.  There were more than 170 people in attendance.  Everyone enjoyed the evening which featured entertainment by Scott Parmenter, Music Director at Providence Baptist Church and Erika Bryant, Miss Pageland.

The speaker for the event was Renn Farmer, owner of The Renn’s Nest in Monroe, North Carolina.  Mrs. Farmer spoke on increasing your business sales through various unique ideas.  She told the crowd how she had tried many things, some worked and some did not, but she gave all her ideas a shot at developing into something.  Most importantly to her business was the fact that she was always open whenever any event took place downtown.  She also believes that her mail out post cards are a big asset.  She always advertises a special on the card and they are something her clients can put their hands on, keep and bring into the store.  By having a reason for the customer to return the card (for a discount, etc.), she can monitor the post card success.

We all enjoyed a wonderful meal prepared by Mickey’s Restaurant.  The highlight of the evening was the awards ceremony.  Our winners are listed below along with pictures of the event.  Please take time to look at the beautiful tables which were created by some of our chamber businesses.  The winner of the table decoration was Pageland Antique Mall.
